Domain renewal — keeping your domain active

When domains purchased through EasyWebie expire, how to renew them, what the reminder schedule is, and what happens if a domain is not renewed.

1

When does a domain expire?

Domains purchased through EasyWebie are registered for 1 year from the date of purchase. The expiry date is shown on your domain card in the dashboard.

A domain does not automatically renew — you need to manually renew it each year. This is by design so you are always in control of what you are paying for.

2

Renewal reminder emails

EasyWebie sends automatic reminder emails before your domain expires:

30 days before expiry — first reminder
7 days before expiry — urgent reminder
1 day before expiry — final warning

These emails go to your account email address. Make sure that address is one you check regularly. If you are not receiving them, check your spam folder and add the EasyWebie sender to your contacts.

3

How to renew your domain

1Go to Domains in your dashboard sidebar
2Find your domain card — it will show an orange "Expiring soon" or red "Expires in X days" badge
3Click Renew on the domain card
4Complete the secure Paddle checkout
5The domain is renewed for another year immediately

Renewal works on any plan including Free — domain renewal is independent of your EasyWebie subscription. You only pay the domain registration cost, not any additional EasyWebie fee.

4

What happens if a domain expires

If a domain reaches its expiry date without being renewed:

Days 1–30 after expiry (grace period): The domain is suspended. Your website may stop loading on that domain. You can still renew during this period — come to the dashboard and click Renew. The domain is reactivated once renewal payment is processed.

After 30 days: The domain enters a "redemption" phase at the registrar level. Reactivation may incur a higher recovery fee. Contact support immediately if your domain is in this state.

After ~60 days: The domain is released back to the public and anyone can register it.

Important: Renewing before expiry is always the easiest and cheapest path. Do not let a domain you care about lapse past the grace period.

5

Your easywebie.com subdomain during expiry

Your free easywebie.com subdomain is completely separate from your custom domain registration. Even if your custom domain expires, your site continues to be accessible at yoursite.easywebie.com — no interruption.

This means you never lose your website even if you forget to renew — you may just lose the custom domain address temporarily while you sort out renewal.

6

Renewal pricing

Domain renewal prices match standard market rates and depend on the domain extension (.com, .in, .net, .co, etc.). The renewal price for your domain is shown on the domain card and in the renewal checkout.

Typical renewal costs:

.com — $15/year
.in — $10/year
.net, .org — $16/year
.co — $35/year

Prices may vary slightly year to year based on registrar pricing. The dashboard shows the exact price before you confirm.

7

Disconnecting a domain from your site

Your domain and your website are two separate things. A domain purchased through EasyWebie belongs to your account — it is not locked to any specific site.

To disconnect a domain from its current site:

1Go to Domains in your dashboard
2Find the domain card
3Click Disconnect

This removes the domain from the site cleanly — DNS records are cleared, Cloudflare routing is removed — and the domain returns to your domain pool showing "Not connected to any site".

8

Moving a domain to a different site

You can connect the same domain to any of your other published sites. This is a two-step process:

Step 1 — Disconnect from the current site

Click Disconnect on the domain card. The domain is now free.

Step 2 — Connect to the new site

The domain card now shows a "Connect to site" button. Click it and choose the site you want to connect the domain to. The site must already be published before you can connect a domain.

DNS propagation after reconnecting takes a few hours as usual.
